Projects

Projects are activities in which only a small number of Radio organizations participate.
Aside from the competitions, the Music Group manages several special projects. For example:

  • Euroclassic-Notturno, night-time music programming broadcast by satellite and produced by the BBC for the EBU, based on non-commercial recordings provided by the Members.
  • As part of the "Ocora" traditional music CD collection managed by Radio France, the EBU produces a series devoted to European traditional music. Recordings of music from the following countries have already been released: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia - I, Estonia - II, Finland, Germany-Bavaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Portugal-II, Romania, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland. Set to be released in 2012-2013: Bulgaria, Germany-Saxony, Ireland, Ukraine.
  • The European Youth Jazz Orchestra, in cooperation with Swinging Europe, brings together each year in a big band 20 musicians from 20 countries for a European tour and the performance of new pieces especially commissioned for this occasion. See Jazz.
  • Composers of the new generation, masters of the new era, take a flight to present their work abroad. European Festivals join forces to develop a platform to welcome this new, unknown contemporary music. 10 major European festivals, with the support of the European Union, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the European Festival Association (EFA) pitch these contemporary composers beyond the borders, straight into the air. See MusMA:Music Masters on Air
Aside from joint efforts in the areas of contemporary music and organ, Radio organizations also pool their resources to provide listeners with unpublished recordings, especially in connection with anniversaries.
