Folk Music

The EBU Folk & Traditional Music Group initiates and manages various specific projects: the EBU Easter and Christmas projects, the EBU Folk Music special (every two years) and many others.   

 

The EBU Folk Music Festival takes place every year, with EBU organizations supporting artists to perform at the festival.

-           Kaustinen, 2006 (Hosts: YLE/Finland)

-           Cork, 2007 (Hosts: RTÉ/Ireland)

-           Moscow, 2008 (Hosts: Radio Russia & Radio Mayak)

-           Cologne, 2009 (Hosts: WDR/Germany)   

-           Rudolstadt, 2010 (Hosts: MDR/Germany) 

-           Opatija, 2011 (Hosts: HRT/Croatia)         

 

The 33rd EBU Folk Festival will be held in Segovia on 27th June - 1st July 2012. It will be hosted by RNE/Spain.
